Heyuan (Michael) Ni
Heyuan (Michael) Ni is a 3rd-year student in the Robinson Life Science, Business, and Entrepreneurship program at UC Berkeley, majoring in Molecular & Cell Biology, Data Science, and Business Administration. He is keen on bio-entrepreneurship and envisions leveraging his own research to transform the world from fundamental facets - like people's needs in food, water, and basic healthcare. Michael has founded and ran a biotech-startup aiming for a cheaper water purification method, aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goals. As he exited the company recently, Michael wanted to pursue further training in technicalities as a scientist before working on another research commercialization. Now, Michael is on his journey as a no-life premed who advocates for sustainability in medicine for his years ahead at Cal. He intends to attend an MD-PhD program after graduation while exploring the intersection of biology, data science, and business by continuously attempting to make startup ideas into reality.
