Maryam Rasouli Danesh

PhD | MS (Electronic Engineering) | BS (Computer Science)

Maryam was born and raised in Tehran, Iran where she got her bachelor’s in computer science and her master’s in electronic engineering at K.N.Toosi university of technology. She migrated to Canada to pursue her Ph.D. at SFU performing research on human detection, tracking, and posture estimation in a network of stationary and mobile depth sensors and RGB cameras developing state-of-the-art machine vision and machine learning algorithms. Before and during her Ph.D., she published multiple journals and conference papers in prestigious venues and filed patents. In parallel, she studied and graduated from the SFU business leadership program for which she received a full fund award. Moreover, she has over six years of industrial experience in robotics, electronics design, software development and machine learning research leading teams of engineers. She loves to challenge herself with open problems in multidisciplinary domains and is recently interested on intersection of technology and healthcare.
